In the following article, we will see how it is a good thing to consider the ways of the Ant. Have you ever considered how hard ants work ? 24/7 , 365 days a year until they die. Ants don’t sit around discussing options. They don’t have unions to join or support. Ants don’t fear danger and will attack the biggest and most dangerous enemy that they face without asking questions.
Why is this something to consider ? Have you looked at your life recently ? Have you thought about what worth you have and what differences you have made and what difference you can make ?
As a Ministry, these things are some real serious thoughts in the minds of everyone that are involved.
Being responsible is a big task and with very extreme instructions from the Bible, directly from God. Our biggest responsibility is to make sure that each and every person that is put in our care by the Holy Spirit, is taken care of and watched over and guided as in scripture : Acts 20:28 “Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which He hath purchased with His own blood”. Another translation puts it very clear and simple : “Pay careful attention to yourselves and to all the flock, in which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, to care for the Church of GOD, which He obtained with His own blood”
This is a very strong and powerful command that we take very serious.
With the aim of being there for people who need spiritual food, help and guidance, we have been blessed with hundreds and hundreds of books, learning material, coloring books as well as boxes full of brand new Bibles !
How does this happen ? Why does this happen ? Who made this happen ? The answer is quite simple. The only logical answer. The only thing that makes sense… GOD made it happen.
What does this have to do with me ? That is what you are probably asking yourself right now. Let’s get back to the ants. They just do what they should do. Ants keep doing what they must do to stay alive. Ants do what they do without having to go for courses on how to carry food. They know that when there is danger, that numbers make the difference, teamwork always pays off. Ants know that in the good times, prepare and stock up for the bad times. Ants only have ONE ruler, only ONE single thing they live for. Are you starting to see how much we are supposed to be like ants ? We look down on them and step on them and go on with our lives ?
Do you want to be like an ant ? Being like an ant does not mean being small and insignificant, it means being part of a bigger team. It means being part of a bigger purpose, being servants only to ONE, Our Lord GOD.
Now how does ants tie up with being responsible to look after others ? Have you seen when it starts to rain and there is a nest that is lower than the waterline ? Ants immediately jump into action and start to carry the eggs that have not yet hatched, out of the nest with great urgency ! Did they get a memo from somewhere that was typed and processed and discussed ? The answer is simple, they don’t. They just DO what they must DO to save what they are responsible for !
The biggest thing of the ants that we should remember, is that they don’t have anyone that they report to. They don’t have managers and team leaders or any “entity” above them. They do what they do because they know it is the right thing to do.
Should we not then be more and more like the ant ? Do we really need to report to a person that has been appointed above us ? The answer is YES and NO. The reason for the YES is that in our modern lives today, we have structure in business and we must report to our managers or team leaders. The reason for the NO is simple, we should not need to think that we need someone to look over us and manage us to do things. An example of the NO part is simple, when you are alone and you know that no one can hear or see you, would you act different from when people can see you ?
Just like the ants have huge responsibilities and have an urgency for the right things to be done without failure, we need to start living the same.
Let’s try to focus more on what must be done and less time on waiting for someone to tell us what to do, focus more on doing things that make a difference than focusing on things that just distract us, focus more on the single greater purpose of why we exist, to serve our Lord , our Saviour, our Salvation, Lord Jesus Christ of Nazareth, focus more on helping the helpless when we see trouble is on the way, focus less on looking down on people in need. Let’s focus more on preparing for the tough times, focus less on having fun and wasting in the good times !
If you need “food” and you are “hungry”, we can help you with free “food” (Bible) to equip you to build yourself up and get to know the Word of GOD better. Please contact any of our Ministry departments and let us know how we can help you. Remember one crucial thing today, if you are in need and you do not tell anyone, no one will care or help.
It sounds harsh saying “No one will care” but remember that caring means thinking about a situation and trying to find a solution – if no one knows you need help, no one will be able to think about it or help you so sometimes we say “No one cares about me” but we forget that maybe the people around us are in “ANT MODE”, running around to stay busy, having a purpose, doing what they think they should be doing to make a difference, staying busy surviving.
Let’s be like ants, strong collective force, together, have the same vision, have the same mission, have the same love for our Father, have the same giving heart, seeing people in need and helping without having to be asked for help.
I like ants more and more every day, and if ants were seen important enough many years ago to be mentioned in the Bible, it must be important enough for us to remember it today !
“Father God, we ask that you bless us in our daily endeavours to better ourselves for Your Greater Purpose in our lives. Help us to understand that we do not have to wait to recognition before we jump into action. Help us to help ourselves to start focusing more on YOU and less on ourselves. Forgive us our sins as we forgive those who sin against us. Bless those less fortunate than us and help us to understand that just as ants stay together and focused on LIFE, we must focus more on YOU. Thank you for Your Blood that set us free and for Your protection over us in our lives. We love YOU and honour YOU Lord Jesus. We pray this in the precious Name of JESUS. Amen”
